English name: Black – billed – mountain – toucan.

Spanish name: Terlaque pechiazul.

Scientific name: Ramphastidae: Andigena Nigrirostris.

Most of it is black. On the upper part of the body is of an olive color. On the tail black tipped chestnut. Down of the neck white. Down part of the body light blue. The skin on the down of the eyes dark blue. Up yellow. The mandible is red.
The beak of 10 cm. It is of 51 cm tall.
It calls with a whistle. Is like a tu-aat, the last syllable sound tiny

They live with another or in small groups, they live on the top of the trees.
They live on the Fog Forest, on parts with separate trees. Above 2700 3000m.
1600-3200m, to 1200m. On east Andes.
You can find this bird in Rio Blanco, that is very close to Aguas de Manizales.


I choose this bird because I like so much the combination of the colors, and also because of the name, and Juliana told to me that was a very easy bird and that is so, so beautiful.
The name is so rare , the colors and all the things I found that it lives in Rio Blanco and that it was a toucan and I like so much the toucans because of the Beak.
